Hide Prices Higher But Shipping Poses a Problem

The US hide market concluded the week with higher prices than the previous. The Jacobsen Hide Index ended the week up to $25.51 from last week’s close of $24.96. The lack of shipping containers and equipment have become an issue for a number of sellers. Some buyers have requested large volumes of product, but the offers had to be turned down due to the inadequacy of steer hide material and containers.
