Colleges and Universities Have Key Role in Fiber Segment Development

Colleges and universities have an essential role in the development of industrial hemp fiber production, transportation, and processing.  Investors face considerable risk, and though there are significant investments being made in processing, the segment is naturally much slower to develop than the nimble cannabinoid segment.  CBD production launched en masse, contributing to hemp pricing volatility in 2019.  CBD operators had decades of MJ production and processing to draw on, and at its simplest, resin crops can be harvested, processed, and stored by hand.  Not so, for fiber production at scale.
