Nine cars of renderer bleachable fancy tallow (BFT-R) traded at a higher price this afternoon. Packer BFT trading was quiet but it’s reasonable to expect the next traded levels to move higher. There is still unsatisfied demand in the market. Technical and edible tallow prices are likely to move higher in the near term with BFT currently trading at a premium.
Distillers corn oil (DCO) prices moved higher today on strong renewable demand. The EIA reported ethanol production down last week at an average of 957,000 barrels per day. Distillers corn oil production is estimated at 9.1 million pounds per day for last week. The 9.1 million pounds is the lowest since the week ending October 23rd.
