Cured Hide Sales Increase Into China

Trading was quiet today with no changes reported. The general sentiment in the market was “not yet” on price movements. As indicated previously, there is mixed demand in the market with increased interest and offer prices on some steer selections. As seen in Table 4 below, cured hide sales in China doubled the week of February 25th from the the prior week. Shipping remains a big concern for sellers moving those sales into China. 


Outstanding Export Sales  —  Through February 25

Tables 1 and 2 below show the total outstanding cured hide and wet blue export sales by selected countries through February 25. Through Week 8, the total outstanding sales are 4.415 million from 4.467 million the prior week.
