Biodiesel margins rise, but window of opportunity limited
Biodiesel margins continued to rise during the week to Friday November 22. The bean oil/heating oil (BOHO) spread boosted margins by falling to its lowest level since August 27.
US hides are highly sought-after with world supply being tight. Many packers have reported they’re well sold while the rest of the market is in a frenzy to buy material to satisfy demand. Automotive and furniture continue to be the main drivers of this demand while footwear trudges behind. However, some footwear tanners have reported slight increases in their interest for some hide selections.

For week ending March 4, export sales for 2021 marketing year increased 54 percent to 662,255 from 429,423 and shipments increased 2 percent to 492,255 from 481,962.
