US hides are highly sought-after with world supply being tight. Many packers have reported they’re well sold while the rest of the market is in a frenzy to buy material to satisfy demand. Automotive and furniture continue to be the main drivers of this demand while footwear trudges behind. However, some footwear tanners have reported slight increases in their interest for some hide selections.
