Slaughter is slow along with the Easter holiday cutting the week to three working days in Argentina. Therefore, good quality Buenos Aires wet salted steers prices continue moving upwards from last week, now at about US$0.70 per kg.

The demand for automobile hides remains firm, whereas footwear and leather morocco continue to be sold at low prices.

Nonetheless, this week is a very short in South America, so only next week will bring a better idea for the future market.

Weekly slaughter remains unchanged. With Memorial Day during the week, production will be four days.

The hide market continues to be very firm. There is very little supply of wet salted hides and the cattle supply is not abundant.
