Big Gains in Porcine MBM Market

Meat and bone meal (MBM) prices were higher this week for both porcine and ruminant material. Strong export and pet food demand continues to propel the porcine MBM market higher, the Missouri River weekly average is up 4.2 percent compared to the week prior. Ruminant prices FOB Mo. River are up 1.8 percent compared to last week. Some of the lower priced mixed-species material has traded higher, narrowing the price range.

Feathermeal and ruminant bloodmeal were steady, porcine bloodmeal averaged slightly lower compared to the week prior. Porcine bloodmeal was down $5 or 0.5 percent from last week.
