LCFS Credit Volume Accelerates Ahead of Q1 Reporting Deadline

 

LCFS Credit Volume 50% Over Weekly Average 

LCFS credit volume continued to rise in this week’s weekly credit transfer report.  Weekly LCFS credit volume of 710,263 was 42 percent over last week and 50 percent above the 2021 weekly average of 472,621.  Second quarter volume is 10 percent over first quarter volume and 29 percent above Q2 of 2020. The average price paid per credit increased $0.74 to $191.18. Of the 55 transactions posted, Type 1 transfers totaled 165,654 credits and Type 2 transfers 544,609 credits. Type 1 transfers accounted for 31 percent of the transactions and 23 percent of the volume.

Type 1 transactions are executed within 10 days of an agreement. Type 2 transactions are executed beyond 10 days of a transfer agreement. Type 1 transactions may provide a more accurate indication of market conditions and price…
