Biofuel Demand & Tight Feedstock Supplies Blowout Prior Relationships to Corn & Soy

Choice white grease (CWG) prices were higher out of the Indiana and Missouri River markets today on strong demand and limited offerings. Cheaper material is available for buyers who can arrange trucking on short notice. Throughout the market trucker shortages are creating buying opportunities, in small volume, at lower prices. Labor remains an issue throughout the supply chain and is contributing to the high relative prices to corn and soybean oil. 

Yellow grease prices are steady with limited offerings reported. Bids for late Aug/Sep delivery into the Gulf have been indicated as high as 60 cents per pound. The historical relationship to corn suggests prices are due for a correction lower, but the strong demand is keeping material tight.
