Hemp Export Market Development

One of the potential benefits to cannabis decriminalization is the advancement of export markets.  Cannabinoid hemp is the obvious beneficiary, but other hemp segments are likely to benefit from a global shift in cannabis policy.  Risk continues to dog operators extracting hemp derived cannabinoids, with unclear laws on what extractors can transport over state lines, much less overseas.  

Export challenges certainly exist for the most active categories in cannabinoid hemp, Delta-8 THC and smokable hemp flower.  Delta-8 poses extraordinary risk for export, and this has been solely a domestic market as a result.  

Flower has been exported to Switzerland since 2019 at least, via private jet.  Just over 1.5 tons
