LCFS Credit Volume and Price Rise During Week Ending Aug 22

LCFS credit volume reached a 4-week high after posting a 23-week low the week prior. Weekly volume of 398,715 was 442 percent over the prior week and 84 percent uder the 2021 weekly average of 447,644.  Third quarter volume is 55 percent below second quarter volume and eight percent below Q3 of 2020. There were 30 transactions during the week, up from 18 the week before. The weighted average price paid per credit increased $3.79 to $185.76. Of the 30 transactions posted, Type 1 transfers totaled 173,670 credits and Type 2 transfers were for 225,045 credits. Type 1 transfers accounted for 23 percent of the transactions and 44 percent of the volume. 

Type 1 transactions are executed within 10 days of an agreement. Type 2 transactions are executed beyond 10 days of a transfer agreement. Type 1 transactions may provide a more accurate indication of market conditions and price direction…
