on a panel hosted this week to discuss environmental violations in the cannabis industry.  Hemp is included here; there is little difference in the way of environmental threats from cannabinoid crops, regardless of the flavor.

Illicit MJ is the most egregious, but hemp has its own issues, including labor transgressions.  A group of 17 migrant farmers in Oregon have filed suit over health and safety violations on one Oregon farm.  Workers in Southern Oregon were at times housed in greenhouses this summer, and other makeshift lodging without toilets or running water.  We discussed this within the context of Operation Table Rock carried out in Southern Oregon this summer. We also noted that temperatures exceeded 114 F at times, but routinely in the 90’s.
