Grease, Fat and Oil Prices Climb on Strong Demand, Supply Concerns

Trading was done at higher values on a number of products today with truck prices starting to narrow the spread to the rail markets. Choice white grease traded as high as 50 cents FOB Indiana today and as high as 49 cents per pound for the Mo. River market. Buyers looking for material in late Jan or early Feb are likely going to have to pay over 50 cents FOB to secure material. Trucking shortages are creating plenty of buying opportunities in the nearby market, albeit at higher prices.

Yellow grease and poultry fat prices were higher as well, both on tight supplies and support from the overall animal at complex.
