Organic Soybean Meal Imports Decline

Organic soybean meal imports declined in February. Bills of lading evaluated by Fastmarkets/The Jacobsen show that approximately 9,600 metric tons of organic soybean meal arrived on U.S. shores in February. This volume is down around 2,500 metric tons from January.

About 90% of the organic soybean meal imported into the United States in the second month of the year came from Turkey. The destination port was New Orleans. In February, the balance of the organic soybean meal imported into the U.S. came from either India or China. The final destination included Seattle, Tacoma, and Baltimore.

Organic soybean meal imports in February were down 71% on a year-over-year basis. For the 12-months ending February 2022, organic soybean meal imports into the United States declined by 31% in February.
