Volatility Week Across Ag and Energy Markets

Uncertainty and volatility ruled the market this week, but on a whole, prices averaged higher versus the prior week. Soybean oil bounced around in range of $0.7415 -0.7603 this week, closing the week on the high. Distiller’s corn oil prices finished the week with an average of $0.8270 FOB Mo. River, but did trade as high as $0.8800/lb early in the week on big gains in the heating oil market. Used cooking oil prices were higher in a number of markets and the Southeast delivered was up 7.5 percent from what had been a fairly quiet/stagnant market in late February.
