Concerns Stem from COVID-19 Surge in China

It was an active day in the hide market, however, there are major concerns due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in China. The entire Chinese province of Jilin is under lockdown as cases are spreading rapidly. This has resulted in the mandatory lockdown, leaving the 24 million residents in Jilin quarantined, once again. This is starting to create concern for the global supply chains considering the potential impact on ports and on driver availablity for trucks. Since workers can’t leave their homes, there may be soon limited manufacturing and transport.
