Argentine slaughter totaled 1 million head in February which, adjusted for business days, was an increase of 4 percent from January and a decrease of 15 percent on year-on-year comparison.

The current slaughter is unchanged from last weeks. Fresh green hides increased Arg.$2 per kg due to higher costs.

Good quality Buenos Aires wet salted steer prices continue quoting at about US$0.90 per kg.

Demand of semi-finished leather for footwear and leather goods are stable, whereas its low for car upholstery due to production problems worldwide.
