Hide Weights Decrease As Summer Months Near

Buyer and seller negotiations remain ongoing, but some business was concluded for steer selections. Colorado branded steers and jumbo branded steers were traded at higher levels than yesterday but close to steady from earlier in the week. Sellers noted that hide weights are becoming lighter as the warmer months are near, which will limit the amount of jumbo weight material available in the market.

A big packers reported tanners are increasing their bids to come up closer to steady levels and expects more trades to conclude tomorrow.
