Consumers Wear Down Their Vehicles Despite High Costs For New Cars

Hide bidding activity was slow midweek in comparison to the week prior. Of the bids received, steer hides were several dollars below offer prices particularly on heavy native and butt branded steer. Buyer bids are for smaller volumes than last week as well. Some sellers have received bids unchanged from current market pricing for dairy cows and minimal interest for plump cows.

Hide demand as well as vehicle sales are expected to recover with lowering interest rates.
