France First to Act on HHC in Europe

France has recently moved to stem the sale of synthetic cannabinoid HHC, an intoxicating hemp-derived product like delta-8 THC.  As of yesterday, June 13, HHC is classified as a drug and all further sales are banned.

The policy shift is guided by research showing that HHC “presents the same risk of abuse and dependence as cannabis,” the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) said.
