Bidding Active for US Hide Market

Bidding Active for US Hide Market

Bidding activity midweek was active for both, steer and cow hide markets. The highest bids from tanners were steady to last traded levels or $1 less. Some sellers are in position to ask for more than last traded levels since their inventories were low enough and they have received sufficient demand. No trades were concluded today.
Sellers thoughts on the near-term market is positive since demand has been consistent and buyers are willing to pay current market levels with minimal resistance. When footwear tanners return to the market mid-summer, in accordance to seasonal patterns, demand is expected to increase further.
