Heifer Hides Well Sold

Heifer Hides Well Sold

Packers complied their offer lists yesterday and today to release tonight, which is expected to be similar to last week but with a few increases on steer hide selection. Buyers are in demand for branded steers which drove trading prices for Colorado branded steers up $1 today for packer material.
Smaller buyers were more active in the market yesterday and today, bidding prices in line with what was last traded.
Sellers are reportedly well sold on heifers which may encourage price increases in the near-term.
Freight rates are lowering, according to several sellers. Steamship lines have pushed for lower rates which may offer decreases in freight rate for hide sellers soon.
