FDA and FTC Issue Cease and Desist Orders to Hemp Companies

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in partnership with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), issued cease and desist orders to six companies selling edible products containing delta-8 THC that are attractive to children.  FTC and FDA have prioritized aspects of markets that have the most impact on public health.

“Marketing edible THC products that can be easily mistaken by children for regular foods is reckless and illegal,” said Samuel Levine, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “Companies must ensure that their products are marketed safely and responsibly, especially when it comes to protecting the well-being of children.”
