Hide Buyers Resistant to Further Price Increases

Hide Buyers Resistant to Further Price Increases

Buyers have been quiet this week with the exception of automotive tanners that are looking for heavy native steers (HNS) and butt branded steers (BBS). HNS traded $0.50 down from yesterday and most sellers are in low supply of the material. BBS sold $1 higher than last traded but sellers stated the incoming production of BBS and Colorado branded steers are likely to be firm in the fall months.
A big packer released their offer list for this week with several items available with September and October shipment.
A few processors reported difficulty to sell cow hides and they had not seen much demand from automotive tanners.
