New Friday Publication Hours in Effect — Trade Reporting Deadline 1 p.m. CST Next Friday

The Jacobsen will implement new Friday publication hours next Friday, September 22. The deadline for trade reporting will be at 1 p.m. CST with publication of the Hide & Leather Price Guide/Commentary soon after.

Today, steer and cowhides traded $0.50 to $1.00 higher than last reported levels. The interest came from the automotive, furniture upholstery and shoe industries. Some sellers reported a slowdown of the recent momentum the furniture industry had been seeing with less interested buyers in the market this week. These sellers report steer hides are very difficult to sell at current market levels and stated cow hides can sell steady at best.
