Cattle Slaughter Forecast Lower in November

Hide trading over the weekend was reported as active at steady to current market price levels, except for packer, regular-weight heavy Texas steers trading $1 higher than last traded levels. Tanners pushed back on prices but accepted the current market levels. Buyers have indicated they have received leather orders last week.
Some packers are expected to have a smaller offer list this week than the week prior as some sold good volume of cured hide material last week.

Cattle Slaughter Forecast

Cattle slaughter is forecast by The Jacobsen at 635,00 head this week, up 1.11 percent from last week but down 4.11 percent from last year. Cattle slaughter finished last week at an estimated 628,000 head, up 2.61 percent from the week prior and down 6.17 percent from last year.
