Butt Branded Steers Traded at $33.50 Per Piece Today

Steer hide trading was done at higher price levels than yesterday, but in line with prices two weeks prior. Regular weight heavy native steers were sold at $36.50 per piece and butt branded steers were sold at $33.50 per piece. Other sellers reported continued pressure on hides intended for automotive, but steady levels is achievable.
More automotive plants went on strike yesterday, adding greater concern of future hide demand for sellers and auto tanners.
