Hempseed production in North America has consolidated in the Northern Plains of the U.S. and Canadian Prairie Provinces.   Canadian operators have been very effective in developing global market share for hempseed and derivatives like hemp hearts.  U.S. hempseed imports are dominated by Canada, but other minor players are increasing their market share.
