Hide Prices Soften This Week

The week wrapped up trading on a softer tone. Several selections of steer and cow hides decreased in price by $0.50 to $1.50 per piece. Chinese tanners sensed sellers needed to move material, so they pushed firmly for lower price levels from last week. Some sellers accepted these levels, while others continued to negotiate with buyers. Countering activity is expected to carry into the weekend.
