Quiet Close to the Week for Cattle Hide Market

Traidng was quiet to close the week with no changes reported in the hide market. Cattle slaughter is estimated at 635,000 head for the week, dead even with last week’s estimate and down 13,000 head from the same period last year. The USDA released it’s December update for the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) today showing an increase in the 2024 beef production forecast on higher cattle slaughter.
