LCFS Credit Trading Volumes, Prices Decline

During the week ending December 4, total LCFS credit volume was 842,282 contracts, down almost 38 percent on the week, data from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) released on December 12 showed.

Credit prices also headed lower during the period under review, dropping $1.27, or close to two percent on the week, to an average value of $69.93. However, the average price of a spot trade rose $2.67 to $70.77. Spot LCFS prices had been trending below contracted trades earlier in the summer and into the fall.
