Quiet Tone Remains at Midweek

Quiet Tone Remains at Midweek

Participants in the animal proteins sector continued to report a quiet tone, leading to generally steady values for midweek. A low of $130/st was reported on ruminant meat and bonemeal, Tx. Panhandle. However, values at that level could not be confirmed as of press time. A new low of $300/st was indicated on Mo. River porcine meat and bonemeal, dropping the range $12.50/st.

There has been mixed communication on ruminant meat and bonemeal with some stating that pure beef meat and bonemeal has been extremely hard to move, being replaced by either mixed species, or poultry by-product meal. Other participants have conveyed better trade for the week on ruminant meat and bonemeal than the past three weeks. This has led to the widened ranges on the ruminant meat and bonemeal market.
