Sellers Prepare For Limited Heavy Native Steer Hide Supply

Sellers Prepare For Limited Heavy Native Steer Hide Supply

**Please note — The Jacobsen will close trade for the bulletin on Friday, Dec 22nd at 1pm CT and publish shortly thereafter. There will be no reports on Monday, Dec 25th.**

Tuesday’s US hide market was generally slow. This was expected after the busy trading activity from the last week into the weekend. A US packer reported jumbo-weighted Butt Branded Steer (BBS) hides $1.50/piece higher than the last report. The seller of the BBS hides does not frequently produce or sell this item.
Some sellers reported decent trading activity of steer and cow hides over the weekend as well as last week. Sellers expect the latter half of the week may bring in decent interest, since the past two Wednesdays have been active, following offer list releases.
