U.S. Soybean Oil Sales Edge Higher on Week

2023/24 U.S. soybean oil exports were unchanged at 300 tonnes (MT) during the period ending December 21, according to the USDA’s Weekly Export Report released on December 29. The largest buyer was Canada. 

U.S. 2023/24 net domestic soybean oil sales of 900 MT were down 71 percent on the week but up 45 percent from the four-week average. The destination was Canada.

Cumulative U.S. soybean oil sales were down nearly 64 percent (11,700 MT) year on year. Outstanding U.S. soybean oil sales increased two percent (500 MT) on the week and close to 40 percent (7,300 MT) on the year. Total U.S. soybean oil commitments increased about three percent (900 MT) week on week and 11.7 percent (4,300 MT) from the same week in 2022.
