In December 2023, slaughter totaled 1.08 million head, down 11 percent year-on-year comparison.
The 2023 slaughter totaled 14.5 million heads, the largest amount in the last 14 years. The year’s slaughter was 8 percent more than in 2022 and 12 percent more than in 2021.
Slaughter volumes in 2023 were similar to the levels of 2019 and 2020.
Good quality Buenos Aires wet salted heavy steers remain quoting around US$0.70 per kg.
Leather continues to trade at similar volumes and prices as the week prior.
