NASDA Renews Support for 1% THC Threshold

The entire definition of hemp is underpinned by a .3 percent THC limit that is completely arbitrary. We’ve heard stories about how the figure came to be, with the most likely origin being part of Canada’s efforts to normalize hemp production. 

When the 2018 Farm Bill was passed, hemp stakeholders could not see around the corner, viewing the .3% figure within the context of political expediency.  As the hemp-derived cannabinoid segment emerged as the key market segment for hemp, the .3 percent limit became an immediate issue.
