Hemp Building Firm Receives U.S. Army Support

In March of 2023, Pennsylvania-based Americhanvre, a construction firm specializing in hemp building processes, received formal results from their ASTM C-518 thermal resistance test for their “EREASY” hemp-lime spray process. The test confirmed previous European assumptions of R2.2/inch, which exceeds R values for many common building materials like brick or wood.

Founded by Cameron and Melissa McIntosh in 2018, Americhanvre has been a driving stakeholder for the hemp building segment.  Hempcrete was approved for the US Residential Building Code in 2022.
