Hemp has provided a career boost for some university researchers because if the immense original research opportunities it presents.  With essentially no established best practices, hemp agronomics are a blank canvas for researchers.

It doesn’t end there.  Processing hemp from crop to a useful industrial material is still very new in the U.S.  There are opportunities in materials science and textiles that researchers have embraced, and funding for hemp has been plentiful in recent years.
