Wisconsin Hemp-based Battery Company to Break Ground in April

The closing of Energizer’s Fennimore and Portage battery plants could have just been another loss for a rust-belt economy.  Wisconsin Battery Company – WinBat – is swiftly moving to fill the manufacturing vacuum left by Energizer.  Energizer plans to cease their operations by end of year.

The Wisconsin Battery Company is gearing up to produce hemp carbon batteries with significant resource advantages over conventional batteries.  WinBat CEO Jeff Greene highlights the social implications of utilizing lithium, which is extracted using questionable labor practices.
