Minnesota Begins New Enforcement Program

Until this week, Minnesota regulators only suspected businesses of selling high THC cannabis flower marketed as hemp flower. Companies selling THC-A hemp flower have skirted marijuana laws by maintaining compliant delta-9 THC levels below 0.3 percent.

Hemp flower samples taken in the Twin Cities and submitted to a third-party analytical lab in California show that delta-9 THC levels were 1.1 percent, over three times the legal threshold. Total THC was 30 percent, which exceeds levels in black market samples taken in the state and is comparable to dispensary flower potency in states with legal programs.
