US Hide Market Traded Sideways

US Hide Market Traded Sideways

Market Update

The US hide market wrapped up the week with unanimous reports of trades at steady levels. Sellers pushed for higher prices, but buyers were resistant. Most business will be carried into the weekend as negotiations are ongoing.

A few sellers reported difficulty trading Heavy Texas Steers (HTS) and Branded Steers (BRS) at steady market levels. Most bids were below market. However, one packer sold BRS in the beginning of the week at steady to last week’s levels.
