Bidding activity was slow at midweek for the US hide market. A few US packers released similar offer lists to last week, in terms of size and items offered. However, other sellers had extensive lists.

Hide demand has slowed since last week and some sellers are in position where they need to move inventories of selections that are building up, such as Dairy Cow (DC) hides. Several sellers reported bids for DC were several dollars lower than last traded levels.

A US packer received a bid for Butt Branded Steers (BBS) hides steady with where they last sold, at $28/piece. Some sellers expect prices to soften slight on some selections by the end of the week.
