European farmers continue to protest environmental regulations

In March, Slaughter totaled 1.05 million head, which was up1% from February but down 19% year on year.
Currently, rawhide supply is stable to last week, especially at frigorificos working for export. Frigorificos supplying for domestic consumption have seen a reduction. Green raw hides prices are quoting with a downward trend of about Arg$10~15/kg.
Good quality Buenos Aires wet salted heavy steers were unchanged from last week at about US$0.65/kg.
Reduced production volume at tanneries due to low competition has pressured hide prices downward.
Demand from Asia is unchanged from last week, but demand from Europe remains weak.
