USCC urges lawmakers to take action on hemp-derived cannabinoids

Edward Conklin, the executive director of the U.S. Cannabis Council (USCC) sent a letter to the chairs and ranking members of the U.S. House and Senate agriculture committees yesterday, urging them to federally prohibit hemp products with “detectable quantities of total THC.”

Conklin recommended banning the following products, to be embedded in the upcoming Farm Bill:

  1. Made or derived from hemp or hemp biproducts; and
