US hide trading low at start of week

Cattle slaughter is forecast by Fastmarkets research at 625,400 head this week, up by 0.81% from last week but down by 0.30% from last year.

Cattle slaughter finished last week at an estimated 620,000 head, up by 2.82% week on week and down by 0.86% year on year.

Over the next six weeks, slaughter is forecast by Fastmarkets research at an average of 622,500 head per week, up by 0.24% from the same period in 2023 but down by 3.86% from 2022.
