European feedstock prices rose in the week to Thursday May 23 amid strong demand from the biofuels and pet food sectors, with some animal fats moving up by around €5-10 per tonne.

Sources reported trades for Category 3 mixed fats with max 15% free fatty acids (FFA) at €870 ($942) per tonne in North-West Europe, while higher-grade fats with 5% FFA traded at €930-940 per tonne.

Poultry fat prices increased to €1,030 per tonne for 2% FFA grade and to €970 per tonne for 5% FFA.

Trading in used cooking oil (UCO) was reported at €1,050 per tonne ex-works North-Western Europe for European UCO, while imported material from the Middle East traded at $980 per tonne CIF Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) and at $1,000-1,025 per tonne CIF Spain.
