Farm Bill amendment survives en bloc voice vote

The now infamous “

Membership required to view content.
” to the draft 2024 Farm Bill has gained traction over the last 24 hours.  The amendment would introduce a sweeping ban on hemp-derived cannabinoids.

In addition to current language that defines hemp, the Miller Amendment includes “any hemp-derived cannabinoid products containing—

  1. cannabinoids that are not capable of being naturally produced by a Cannabis sativa L. plant;
  2. cannabinoids that—

    (aa)              are capable of being naturally produced by Cannabis sativa L. plant; and

    (bb)              were synthesized or manufactured outside the plant;

    or
