Following the All-China Leather Exhibition (ACLE), buyers were looking for willing buyers to sell at lower than last traded levels. Several sellers refused the lower bids but sold at sideways levels.
Volvo ditched their previously set target of selling only electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030 due to insufficient consumer demand for the models. EVs typically contain less natural leather than combustible engine cars in attempt to follow the environmentally friendly trend. This reduction of EV production allows hide tanners to hold their current market share in automotive upholstery.
