SAF roadmap, collaborations announced at Bali International Airshow

At the event, coordinating minister for maritime affairs and investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said he would call on Indonesian state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina to collaborate with airlines to study resources and opportunities for SAF within Indonesia.

On the same day, Pertamina announced a memorandum of understanding with Airbus to explore the development of SAF infrastructure in Indonesia, the companies said in press releases.

Airbus and Malaysian airline AirAsia also announced a memorandum of understanding during the airshow, on Thursday September 19, to collaborate and explore alternative feedstocks and technologies for SAF production.

The two companies will use the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) project as a guide for their collaboration, AirAsia’s press release said.
