US 2024/25 corn, soybean export sales climb week on week; wheat down 48%

Corn
US corn sales for 2024/25 were reported at 847,400 tonnes in the week to September 12, up by 27.1% from the previous week and landing within the USDA’s expected range of 550,000-1.4 million tonnes, USDA data showed on Thursday September 19.

Much of the increase came from Mexico (280,800 tonnes), unknown destinations (183,400 tonnes), Japan (121,800 tonnes), Spain (71,500 tonnes) and Colombia (67,000 tonnes). The USDA groups undisclosed destinations under the umbrella term “unknown.”

These gains were partly offset by reductions for Honduras (7,500 tonnes), the Dominican Republic (4,200 tonnes), the Philippines (1,100 tonnes) and Barbados (600 tonnes).

The accumulated export commitments reached 147.1% of the USDA forecast.

Exports of 572,900 tonnes were primarily to Mexico (360,000 tonnes), Spain (71,500 tonnes), Japan (61,800 tonnes), Colombia (21,700 tonnes) and Taiwan (18,200 tonnes).
